It wasn’t only with the song Three Words that this Czech presenter, actor, singer and fur-lover became famous at the turn of the millennium. His female fans took his music albums by storm.
He also moderated the popular show “Czech Slovak SuperStar”. He is known for his wit, spontaneity and charisma. Outside the media sphere he is active in charity. It is obvious that it was not difficult to gain such a large audience for his popularity on Instagram.
Karolína Kurková (1 mil.)
The most influential Czech Instagram user and Czech-American top model comes from the family of Czech basketball player Josef Kurka. She started modelling at the age of 15, signed a contract with Prada in Milan and first appeared in Vogue magazine in 1999. She has worked with fashion brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Valentino, Chanel, etc. She has also received many awards from non-profit organizations because she is active in humanitarian work.
On his instagram profile she shares her work in modeling, but also gives her fans a glimpse into her personal life in New York. She told Lidové noviny, “Numbers are nice and sometimes important, but I don’t keep track of them. It’s not something I live for. Jirka gained a very wide following and was one of the most popular youtubers in the Czech Republic. He has organised charity streams, and in 2015 he raised over CZK 300,000 for the Children’s Hospital in Brno.
He also ran the Zetko gaming café in the Kotva department store and published the monthly magazine Jirka: Jirka Kral’s Comics. He launched the Be Safe Online with Avast educational programme. In 2015, together with his colleague Markus Krug, he changed the concept of the talk show to a show with a yellow triangle in the logo and together they started to create content with attempts at international reach within Czech internet production. He started his YouTube career MenT at the age of 12. His first videos focused on let’s play. Gradually, he created content for games like Minecraft, which significantly increased his channel’s viewership. In 2017, he reached the 1 million subscriber mark on his channel.
His current focus is on making games, including GeoGuessr and GTA V. He also creates funny responses to Reddit memes and TikTok videos. In 2021, Forbes ranked him third in the top 10 highest paid YouTubers in the country and he also made the Forbes 30 under 30 2022 list, which showcases talented individuals under the age of 30.

Ben Cristovao is a singer, rapper and record producer combining music from various genres including rap, R&B and pop. Ben is known for his dynamic voice, style and energetic performances. In addition to music, he is also a Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner, model and occasional actor.
A couple of years ago, he decided to use his influence on social media to educate school children about safety on Facebook and Instagram as part of the Seznam campaign. Interestingly, he also released a single called Instagram.

Metals is a Czech youtuber, vlogger, moderator and podcaster. In October 2023, he had over 938 thousand subscribers on his YouTube channel. His channel is mostly followed by people aged 18 to 34. In total, Kovy an YouTube has racked up over 245 million views.
On his account you will find mostly posts from his life and also educational content. He chooses his collaborations carefully and it’s obvious that he approaches Instagram responsibly and tries to infuse added value into each post.

Shopaholic Nicol is a Czech youtuber who co-hosted the show Breakfast with Nova with Milan Peroutka for three years. She is one of the highest earning and most popular youtubers and influencers in the Czech Republic.
In 2015, Forbes ranked her 42nd on the list of the 77 most influential Czechs on social media, and in 2016 she even reached 10th place. She also released a single called “LOST”. She has worked very successfully on campaigns for Coca Cola and Manufaktura.

Another big name that needs no introduction. Professional tennis player Petra Kvitova is a two-time Wimbledon winner and one of the best Czech tennis players in the world. She is known for her powerful stroke from both sides and her significant success on grass courts.

Who doesn’t know one of the most important figures in the history of world hockey? During his career, he played in the NHL for teams like the Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals, New York Rangers and others. He holds many hockey records and awards, including five Maurice Richard Trophies for the top scorer of the season.

Mikir is an entertainer, youtuber and the author of Mikýř’s Amazing Internet Journey. His first project was a show called Mikýř’s board review, where he focused on snowboarding. As of December 2023, his YouTube channel had over 330,000 subscribers and 62 million views.
He took part in the national campaign to promote data boxes initiated by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. Thanks to his ability to reach a younger segment of the target group, he brought the campaign significant media coverage. He was also visible in the run-up to the parliamentary elections, urging people to vote in a creative and distinctive way.
